Kumortuli (also spelt Kumartuli, or the archaic spelling Coomartolly) (Bengali: কুমোরটুলি) is a traditionallpotters’ quarter in northern Kolkata. The potters of this place are famous for their great artistry. They usually make idols of various Hindu deities during the festivals, specially during Durga Puja. It is one of the seven wonders of Kolkata.
These pictures were taken during my last two visits to Kumortuli, Kolkata.
